POSReady 7 is available
Microsoft has released POSReady 7 and it is now available to order. An evaluation version of POSReady 7 is already available for download from the Microsoft Windows Embedded website: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/downloads/download-windows-embedded-posready-7.aspx The new POSReady 7 is based an Windows Embedded Standard 7 technology and includes new Embedded Enabling Features such as the Enhanced Write Filter and a new Keyboard Filter Driver. Windows Embedded POSReady 7–How to create a locked down kiosk experience
Microsofts new Windows Embedded POSReady 7 is currently available as Community Technical Preview 2 on the Microsoft Connect website. System Memory May Run Low With WinSAT Included On A Standard 7 Runtime
Microsoft has published a workaround for the case that you use EWF and that WinSAT is included in your image and it consumes too much memory. Write Filter Management Tools released for Windows Embedded Standard 2009
The Windows Embedded Standard 2009 May 2011 Feature Update adds two additional applications “Enahnced Write Filter Management Tool” and “File Based Write Filter Management Tool” which allow you to monitor the status and configure the filter drivers in you images. The applications will start on the system start and appear in the systray also showing notifications when the overlays runs full. DISMUI was updated to work with the CTP2 of Windows Embedded POSReady 7. The tool allows you easily add and remove Feature Packages in POSReady 7 CTP2 via a graphical user interface. The new Windows Embedded Device Manager 2011 enables you to manage all your embedded devices with a single tool.
