Microsoft has released the License Assessment Tool which helps you find the correct license depending on which features you have included in your Windows Embedded Standard 7 image.
Do I need to enter a different license for each image?
No, you do not need to enter a separate license for each cloned image. Windows Embedded licensing works differently than standard Windows — a device is fully licensed when you put a license sticker onto it.
How to enter the product key in XP Embedded / Windows Embedded Standard?
With every license order you receive an envelope containing the licenses and a yellow paper with one product key. This product key is used to create full version XP Embedded images in Target Designer.
